One Of Those Annoying Update Posts

For those that follow on Twitter, me saying this stuff will be pretty common knowledge by now, but this is for those that missed it and more for PR and publishers waiting for reviews from me. The last two months have been both draining and hard, with real life stuff sucking up most of my hours, and family things coming to a point where I feel more time was needed in that department. I reached a point where writing or being the jolly guy I am on social media just wasn't a thing I could do anymore, finding myself just boxing things up and watching days fly by with the stress at what was being put on me at the time. That and the feed was becoming more about my life than video games, and who wants to read out my life?

Only last week were things fully sorted with the stress of what was taking place finally being taken off my shoulders, with the last week or so being all about me getting off my lazy bum and getting a job that will start to bring money into the house.  I go out to my first job interview in ten years, what with bringing up two kids while the Wife was the one who brought the cash into the house. Things will return to how they were very soon, but it may just take a bit to adjust.

I just want to say sorry to those PR and publishers who have sent games to me in the last few weeks that still sit unreviewed. I am working on them slowly, but the backlog is about 8 games strong now, so trust me I will get to that game at some point. Being just the one guy and not really having those around I can fully trust to cover bigger releases, the stress of seeing them grow has made me stop requesting or emailing about many other games out in that time. So yeah, the reviews will come out in the next couple of weeks, and just sorry I couldn't get them out sooner for you. Trust me, it annoys me more than you when I put out delayed content.

Twitter people who have seen me go from being active to tweeting a few times a day, do not worry. Once I feel ready to be me again I will be back filling up your timelines with pointless stuff so you remember you follow me, to then unfollow me. Thanks to the few who got in touch via DM's too, it meant a lot when I was in a rough spot feeling like I had no one to speak with. Love you guys. I've tried to be me again on social media in the last week or so and I just don't feel up to it yet, so will take a break for a week or so and hopefully come back less moany and more myself.

See you soon,
Tony

  1. Take as long as you need, my man, we'll be here when things improve. I suffer with depression and know what it's like when you can't shake that "dark" mood, hope you feel better soon.
Much love and dont let the f**kers get you down!

HXR Plays - Overwatch Opening Intro + Reaper Gameplay

Today I start a little series on here where I have a little play with 1 of the 21 characters available in the massively addictive game that is Overwatch.

Today sees me show off the opening intro, as well as playing a game with the character known as Reaper. He falls into the offense side when it comes to character selection, and is great if you enjoy a bit of right in your face combat.

Reaper like the other 20 characters in the game has a few specials to play with outside of his standard weapon. Not only do his standard Hellfire shotguns pack a mean punch at close quarters, but he also has Wraith Form (invincible for a short few seconds but not able to shoot), Shadow Step, which is a fancy way of saying teleporting from one place to another, and finally we have his charged special known as Death Blossom. This special sees Reaper spin around for a few seconds while unloading his deadly shotguns, killing anyone who is stupid enough to get in the way.

More gameplays on the way with me h…

Review - The LEGO movie 2 Videogame

I've lost track of how many LEGO games I've owned or reviewed in all the years of doing this review stuff. With each one not really changing that much from the last, but seemingly always being there for me when a gaming funk hit and I've just not felt like playing anything too tasking. The memory of the first LEGO Movie game has seemingly been lost in my mind when thinking about it right now while typing up this intro (good job I write stuff down) but turns out now checking the previous review link I thought quite highly of it. LEGO movie 2 follows pretty much the same concept as every other LEGO game story in the past, but let's explain that for the zero people that have no idea what that is, and also the shocking new story full of twist and turns with this new game (note sarcasm).

LEGO Movie 2 kicks off with cute aliens coming down and attacking, and it's up to you and your cast of characters and unlockable items to take them down. Honestly, the story is probabl…

Review - Crayola Scoot

Crayola Scoot was one of those games I went into knowing what to expect. This after watching many preview videos who all seemingly found it hard not to mention a Tony Hawk's games while showing what it offered. Kinda like when you see a new top-down-racer and have to hold in games like Micro Machines, or a new fighting game and end up dropping Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter in the mix. We all do it, and half the time the actual gameplay doesn't come anywhere close to the classic games we mention. Deep down inside I knew this would be the case when loading up Crayola Scoot for myself, but I had to see it with my own eyes of course, as I'm not afraid of ever being proved wrong. Sure enough, the only similarities to this and a Tony Hawk game are the fact you ride on a thing with wheels around areas and perform tricks, and that boys and girls is where it ends.

Crayola Scoot goes for the bright and colourful world seen in games such as Splatoon, with the game certainly aimed …
