Overwatch Free-Play Weekend Coming To Consoles Next Week

A free weekend of Overwatch is coming to both the Xbox One & PS4 next weekend (Sep 9th - Sep 12th), with all 22 heroes and 13 maps available for play in a variety of modes on offer. You'll also get the chance to level up and earn Loot Boxes along the way, therefore giving you the opportunity to unlock different customisation options via the Hero Gallery. You can check out what time this free play weekend goes live in your area by the handy map made by Blizzard below.

For those that never gave Overwatch a chance when it launched, be sure to give my review a look by clicking here. While I've not had much time to dig into it since writing the review, I'd still say it was one one of the better releases so far this year, and offers those that do give it a try a little something different from the normal shooter out there. While this is not confirmed, it is also the norm on such weekends that the game on offer has some sort of discount if you fancy picking it up when playing it. With nothing announced about this just yet however, this is just me assuming it will happen again.

HXR Plays - Overwatch Opening Intro + Reaper Gameplay

Today I start a little series on here where I have a little play with 1 of the 21 characters available in the massively addictive game that is Overwatch.

Today sees me show off the opening intro, as well as playing a game with the character known as Reaper. He falls into the offense side when it comes to character selection, and is great if you enjoy a bit of right in your face combat.

Reaper like the other 20 characters in the game has a few specials to play with outside of his standard weapon. Not only do his standard Hellfire shotguns pack a mean punch at close quarters, but he also has Wraith Form (invincible for a short few seconds but not able to shoot), Shadow Step, which is a fancy way of saying teleporting from one place to another, and finally we have his charged special known as Death Blossom. This special sees Reaper spin around for a few seconds while unloading his deadly shotguns, killing anyone who is stupid enough to get in the way.

HXR Blog - One Year Old / Giving back To You Lot (GIVEAWAY)

A year ago today I decided to bring back Honest Xbox Reviews with the hope that people would actually come and read whatever words I typed up on review items that I got my hands on.  Like the little box on the side of the blog has said since this started, I know I'm not the greatest when it comes to forming words into a sentence, but hopefully, my passion and enjoyment of typing comes across in what I do.

I've been doing this now for what feels like forever, with this name being used on a website previously, and then Honest Games Reviews being my writing home. Sure this journey has had its ups and downs over the years, but I still enjoy getting to meet new people on social media and also offering reviews that don't hold back or tiptoe around something being utterly pants because it might end with me being ignored in the future

If you've followed me from day dot (I'm talking HXR first time around) you will know I always try to give back to those who support and re…
